Special Aspects of World Clock
- City and Country: With so many countries and cities around the world, it is not always possible to know which city a country is in. Which is why, we have made it possible for you to ask World Clock to tell you the time in any of over 500 cities and 100 countries. Thus, if an Internet chat friend tells you she is from Nicosia, you do not necessarily need to know Nicosia is in Cyprus
- Quick List: The opening screen of Amida’s World Clock is a quick list of customizable list of cities and countries you would like to know the time in. Thus, during the Wimbledon tennis tournament, you may wish to add London to your list, so that you can quickly work out when the live telecast would start
- Bad spelling? No problem: Most of us do not have a degree in geography, and it is sometimes difficult to know if the correct spelling is, say, Kuala Lumpur or Kaula Lampor. But you can just key in the first few letters (even one), and World Clock will look up all the possibilities for you
- Time Zones: As you may know, some vast countries (such as the USA) have different time zones, and Amida lists them all. For example, the USA is divided into Alaska, Central, Eastern, Hawaii, Mountain and Pacific.
Ways to use World Clock
Here are a few ways in which you could use World Clock:
- Your sister lives in New Zealand, and it's her birthday. When would it be exactly midnight there?
- It is the first morning on a Test series in Brisbane, Australia. The match starts at 10:30 am local time, so when would the live telecast start?
- You want to schedule a conference call with colleagues spread over the world - in Germany, Thailand and Sri Lanka. Find a time that is acceptable to all, so that no one has to wake up in the middle of the night
