Field Force Automation, Mumbai

Amida Simputers and USB barcode scanners are being used by a large private sector company in India for automating and monitoring its outbound logistics function. The application is currently piloted all across Mumbai with a view to cover the entire country soon. The customer has derived not only process efficiencies but reaped benefits of lower costs of hardware, application development and maintenance and end-user training.

Field Force Automation, Chennai

Last-mile monitoring of networks and systems has been planned by a prominent public limited company by using Amida Simputers in the hands of its field maintenance and personnel. The customer has completed trials with Amida Simputers and has planned pilot rollout thus replacing cumbersome laptops used earlier for the same application.

Spot billing, Karnataka

Development versions of Amida Simputers have successfully been used in Gulbarga, Karnataka as part of the electricity board's initiative to introduce spot billing systems. Currently, 30,000 consumer records are updated and bills are generated using a portable battery operated printer attached to the Amida Simputer. With other agencies in Bangalore, Madhya Pradesh, Orissa, Gujarat and West Bengal lining Amida Simputer solutions, we are all set to enable transparency, speed and accuracy in billing operations across India.

Bhoomi-Suggi, Karnataka

200 Amida Simputers (development versions) are being used by chosen village accountants across 8 districts in Karnataka, allowing for rapid crop and tenancy data collection in the field and transfer to main servers at the taluk level. The project has been piloted under the famous Bhoomi initiative driven by the Karnataka Government, and cycle times for receipt of data on the server have fallen to 2 months from previous figures of 8-10 months.

Other Projects

A WHO sponsored initiative is set to shortly take off using Amida Simputers for disease control and monitoring by the National Tuberculosis Institute.

CASHPOR, a prestigious microfinance institution (MFI), is currently rolling out an application on Amida Simputers for optimizing its field operations. Incidentally, CASHPOR was founded by Prof. David Gibbons, who initially co-founded the world-famous Grameen Bank model along with Prof. Muhammad Yunus in Bangladesh.
